Cold Treated Commodities
Directions for Inspecting Cold Treated Citrus from South
Africa and Clementines from Other Than Spain
Important
Clementines from Spain must be precleared. Refer to the separate Special
Procedures for inspecting and recording results for Precleared Spanish
Clementines.
Break Bulk Consignments
1. Select 75 boxes from each vessel.
2. Divide the 75 box sample proportionally among each compartment of
the vessel.
3. Randomly select the boxes to be monitored and/or inspected from many
areas of each compartment.
4. Cut and inspect 10 fruits per box for monitoring the treatment.
5. If the cargo is not precleared, inspect an additional 2 percent of the
consignment
Containerized Consignments
1. Select eight boxes from each container from at least two pallets (it is not
necessary to devan).
2. Cut and inspect 10 fruits per box for monitoring the treatment.
3. If the cargo is not precleared, inspect an additional 2 percent of the
consignment

Clementines from Anywhere, Citrus from Spain or South
Africa, or Litchis from China
Cut and inspect 30 fruit per inspectional lot (it is not necessary to devan).
Reporting Inspection Results
1. Complete the chart that follows with the results of your monitoring
treatment inspection and regular inspections.
2. Send the completed chart weekly to APTL. An example of how to
complete this chart follows:
