1 Inspect plantains, cooking bananas, <strong>and</strong> bananas which differ from the usual bananas of commerce for internal feeders (fruit<br />

flies).<br />

2 If treatment has not been completed before entry, HOLD the consignment <strong>and</strong> CONTACT PPQ through proper channels. The<br />

fruits or vegetables may arrive in the U.S. only:<br />

At ports located north of 39 o latitude <strong>and</strong> east of 104 o longitude<br />

At ports that have approved cold treatment facilities (refer to the PPQ Treatment <strong>Manual</strong> for a list of current approved cold<br />

treatment facilities<br />

3 Ivy gourd (Coccinia gr<strong>and</strong>is) is PROHIBITED ENTRY into Hawaii.<br />

4 The cartons of papaya must be stamped, “Not for importation into or distribution within HI.”<br />

5 Papayas <strong>and</strong> pineapples are PROHIBITED ENTRY into Hawaii.<br />

6 The rocoto pepper or chamburoto (Capsicum pubescens) is PROHIBITED ENTRY.<br />

7 See the special procedures for Peppers from Countries in the West Indies <strong>and</strong> from Trinidad <strong>and</strong> Tobago.<br />

8 Must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Belizean department of agriculture stating that (1) the fruit<br />

is free from Coccus moestus, C. viridis, Dysmicoccus neobrevipes, Planococcus lilacinus, P. minor, <strong>and</strong> Psedococcus l<strong>and</strong>oi;<br />

<strong>and</strong> (2) all damaged fruit was removed from the consignment prior to export under the supervision of the Belizean department<br />

of agriculture. Shipping boxes must be labeled “Not for distribution in HI, PR, USVI, <strong>and</strong> Guam.”<br />

9 If destined to an SAG location, then require T104(a) (1). HOLD consignment <strong>and</strong> CONTACT PPQ through proper channels.<br />

If Cydia fabivora, Epinotia aporema, or Maruca testulalis is found, see special procedures for regulating Beans Infested with<br />

Cydia fabivora, Epinotia aporema, <strong>and</strong> Maruca testulalis.<br />
