4 Each consignment of Unshu oranges must meet the following conditions:<br />

Reference<br />

List of Approved <strong>Fruits</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Vegetables</strong><br />

Admissible ONLY into the continental United States.<br />

Undergo a surface sterilization treatment in accordance with 7 CFR 305.<br />

Be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate from the national plant protection organization of the Republic of Korea bearing<br />

one of the following additional declarations:<br />

“The citrus in this consignment were cleaned using normal packing house procedures.”<br />

OR<br />

"These oranges were inspected <strong>and</strong> are considered to be free from sweet orange scab, Elsinoe australis)."<br />

[Note: The requirement for the <strong>Phytosanitary</strong> Certificate <strong>and</strong> Additional Declaration does not apply to precleared citrus accompanied<br />

with a PPQ Form 203.]<br />

For sampling instructions, refer to "Instructions for Officers" in the <strong>Fruits</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Vegetables</strong> <strong>Import</strong> Requirements (FAVIR) database<br />

5 Each consignment of peppers must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate of inspection issued by the National Plant<br />

Protection Organization of Korea bearing the following additional declaration: “These peppers were grown in greenhouses in<br />

accordance with the conditions in 7CFR 319.56 <strong>and</strong> were inspected <strong>and</strong> found free from Agrotis segetum, Helicoverpa<br />

armigera, Helicoverpa assulta, Mamestra brassicae, Monilinia fructigena, Ostrinia furnacalis, Scirtothrips dorsalis, Spodoptera<br />

litura, <strong>and</strong> Thrips palmii.” Peppers must arrive at the U.S. port of entry in insect proof cartons or cartons covered with an insect<br />

proof tarpaulin.<br />

6 Each consignment of persimmons must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Republic of Korea’s<br />

national plant protection organization (NPPO) stating that the fruit is free of Conogethes punctiferalis, Planococcus kraunhiae,<br />

Stathmopoda masinissa, <strong>and</strong> Tenuipalpus zhizhilashiviliae<br />

7 Only precleared consignments are authorized. The consignment must be accompanied by a Korean <strong>Phytosanitary</strong> Certificate<br />

<strong>and</strong> a PPQ 203 or copy of the master 203 signed by the APHIS inspector on site in Korea to validate foreign site preclearance.<br />

8 If the consignment arrives with ROOTS, it must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the NPPO of the<br />

Republic of Korea stating that the Shepherd’s Purse was inspected <strong>and</strong> found free of quarantine pests with an additional<br />

declaration stating that the Shepherd’s Purse leaves <strong>and</strong> stems with roots have been grown in a pest-free place of production<br />

for the quarantine nematodes Hemicycliophora koreana, Paratylenchus p<strong>and</strong>us, Rotylenchus orientalis, <strong>and</strong> Rotylenchus pini,<br />

are free from soil, <strong>and</strong> imported in accordance with the provisions of 7 CFR 319.56-51.<br />

Leaves <strong>and</strong> stems are admissible with no additional import requirements.<br />

9 Allow entry only from September 15 through May 31.<br />

10 Must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the National Plant Protection Organization of Korea with an<br />

Additional Declaration: "The water dropwort (Oenanthe javanica) in this consignment was inspected <strong>and</strong> is considered free<br />

from Water Dropwort Witches Broom <strong>and</strong> Puccinia oenanthes-stoloniferae".<br />

11 Because treatment is required, HOLD consignment <strong>and</strong> CONTACT PPQ through proper channels.<br />

12 Inspect plantains, cooking bananas, <strong>and</strong> bananas which differ from the usual bananas of commerce for internal feeders (fruit<br />

flies).<br />

13 Ivy gourd (Coccinia gr<strong>and</strong>is) is PROHIBITED ENTRY into Hawaii, Guam <strong>and</strong> CNMI.<br />
