The topographic images and terra<strong>in</strong> model<strong>in</strong>g produced by <strong>the</strong> technologies<br />

employed dur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> project at El Marquesillo permit a visualization <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> site that has<br />

not been previously atta<strong>in</strong>able. In <strong>the</strong> field, it is difficult to perceive subtle variations<br />

along <strong>the</strong> surface due to distance and ground cover. A benefit <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> total station mapp<strong>in</strong>g<br />

data was <strong>the</strong> ability to enhance elevations across <strong>the</strong> site to visualize better surface<br />

features and contours. Examples <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> variability <strong>in</strong> visualization are illustrated <strong>in</strong> Figure<br />

4.7.<br />
