stratigraphic pr<strong>of</strong>ile across <strong>the</strong> site (Figure 5.1). At numerous locations, <strong>the</strong> river’s<br />

actions have exposed archaeological features and significant quantities <strong>of</strong> cultural<br />

material, <strong>the</strong> most prom<strong>in</strong>ent <strong>of</strong> which was <strong>the</strong> exposure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Olmec throne. The<br />

majority <strong>of</strong> exposed artifacts are ceramic artifacts, however (Figure 5.2).<br />
