Along <strong>the</strong> north arm <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> structure, between 77a and 77b, is an open<strong>in</strong>g that<br />

provides access to <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> plaza. There is a broad ramp-like feature extend<strong>in</strong>g north<br />

from <strong>the</strong> plaza. Atop structures 77a and 77b, which flank <strong>the</strong> top <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> access way <strong>in</strong>to<br />

<strong>the</strong> plaza, <strong>the</strong>re may have been structures built <strong>of</strong> perishable materials. This possibility is<br />

based on slightly higher elevations to <strong>the</strong> left and right <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> entryway that are<br />

rem<strong>in</strong>iscent <strong>of</strong> raised platforms, which served as foundations for structures. These raised<br />

portions are visible <strong>in</strong> Figure 4.15, a Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) surface map,<br />

which presents a north to south view <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Throne Group and <strong>the</strong> entry ramp and<br />

open<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> north wall <strong>of</strong> Structure 77. This map also demonstrates some <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

process<strong>in</strong>g steps used <strong>in</strong> develop<strong>in</strong>g a three-dimensional model <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> site by depict<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>the</strong> TIN mesh and color cod<strong>in</strong>g used <strong>in</strong> creat<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> surface contours and elevations.<br />
