production typology shows that prismatic blades segments accounted for 28 percent<br />

(n=35), flakes amounted to 63 percent (n=80), and bipolar reduction represented 9<br />

percent <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> assemblage.<br />

The spatial distribution <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> collection is presented <strong>in</strong> Table 5.5, which shows<br />

that <strong>the</strong> Olmec Throne Unit excavations produced 40 pieces that were assigned to<br />

Guadalupe Victoria and 12 to Zaragoza (see Appendix 3b). The <strong>in</strong>dividual Ucareo and<br />

Pachuca pieces were recovered around <strong>the</strong> throne as well as one unidentified piece. In <strong>the</strong><br />

seven test units located <strong>in</strong> Fields 1 and 2, only Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 conta<strong>in</strong>ed obsidian;<br />

a total <strong>of</strong> 24 artifacts were attributed to Guadalupe Victoria, 30 to Zaragoza, and two<br />

were unknown. From with<strong>in</strong> Offer<strong>in</strong>gs I and II, 14 pieces were recovered from<br />

Guadalupe Victoria and a s<strong>in</strong>gle piece was from Zaragoza.<br />
