6. Summary and Recommendation<br />

This paper summarises the performance of first and second wave projects. There are no items for<br />

decision.<br />

7. Project Performance<br />

7.1 April to November 2009<br />

Given at Appendix 1 is the Project Performance report for April to November 2009.<br />

In summary, the RAG status assigned to the projects (with reasons) and signed off by the Programme<br />

Delivery Group is as follows:<br />

• Red (2/12 Projects)<br />

Ophthalmology<br />

Year to date performance is 13% below target and no data provided for November 2009.<br />

Cardiology<br />

The partial actual performance information to September is below target. It was previously reported<br />

that information provided by <strong>Sandwell</strong> PCT Information Department requires validation as not<br />

consistent with previously reported consultant led activity and non consultant led activity not<br />

identified, and this situation remains unchanged. Programme Manager to meet with <strong>Sandwell</strong> PCT<br />

Information lead to seek resolution.<br />

• Amber (5/12 Projects)<br />

Urgent Care – Heart of <strong>Birmingham</strong><br />

The level of underperformance against year to date target has increased from 5% to 7% between<br />

October and November. The plan for this service to cease on 31/3/10 and be re-provided by Assura<br />

from Summerfield Health Centre from mid-February <strong>2010</strong>.<br />

Rehabilitation Beds - Rowley<br />

Step-up capacity not being fully utilized by GPs. STAR data previously below target by 8% with no<br />

data provided by the Local Authority to the interim Project Lead for November.<br />

Musculoskeletal<br />

It has previously been reported that there are areas of underperformance that persist and no primary<br />

care date for GP-led Rheumatology. The Project Lead has been unable to provide the actual<br />

performance data for November 2009 despite requesting from SWBH Information Department.<br />
