BBS:
• Not recorded within the proposed wind energy development site.
Three pairs/territories recorded within the wider BBS area (see
Figure 12.6).
EC Surveys:
• Recorded on 7 of 10 visits. Peak count 18 = 1%), the site is also considered to be
of International importance.
Being listed on Annex 1 of the EU Birds Directive, glossy ibis is a
species of International importance.
The only record of glossy ibis was of two flights of a single bird
recorded during the flight activity surveys. Both sightings,
probably of the same bird, were recorded outside of the application
site. Glossy ibis is a rare vagrant to Scotland and as such the site
is considered to be of negligible importance for this species.
Being listed on Annex 1 of the EU Birds Directive, kingfisher is a
species of International importance.
Kingfisher was not recorded within the application site, and was
only occasionally recorded within the survey area (e.g. along the
Black Devon). However, the lower coastal stretches of
watercourses are often important foraging grounds for kingfisher
during the winter months. Therefore, the site is considered to be
