• A907 immediately west of the Gartarry Roundabout;
• Clackmannan Road (A907) immediately east of the Shillinghill Roundabout; and
• Forth Crescent.
7.3.9 The assessment has been limited to the above locations as this is the route that would
experience the greatest increase in traffic flow as described above. It is accepted that smaller
increases may occur on alterative routes which link with the A907. However, these increases
are expected to be insignificant.
Base Traffic Survey Data
7.3.10 Baseline traffic survey data on the local road network was obtained by Streetwise Services
Limited on behalf of RPS at the end of August 2010 during academic term time.
7.3.11 7 day week, 24 hour traffic count data for the A907, Clackmannan Road (east of the Shillinghill
Roundabout) and Forth Crescent was collected using automatic traffic count (ATC) equipment
between 23 and 29 August 2010 (inclusive).
7.3.12 2009 annual average daily traffic (AADT) flows on the A907 west of the Gartarry Roundabout
was obtained from Clackmannanshire Council. Due to the wider current economic climate and
the resultant impact on traffic growth, the 2009 flows are considered to be representative of
current (2010) background traffic conditions.
7.3.13 A summary of existing background traffic levels is presented below as Table 7.1.

7.4 Assessment of Effects
Road Infrastructure Requirements
7.4.1 Assessments of the proposed road route to the proposed wind energy development site from
the M876 Motorway have been undertaken by Entec and RPS. The assessments identified the
requirements for infrastructure improvements along the length of the site access road at its
junction with Bowhouse Road.
7.4.2 The road infrastructure requirements along the site access road and the Bowhouse Road
junction are set out below in Table 7.2.
