Section 10 – Survey Requirements<br />

10.01 General<br />

1. In the interpretation and application <strong>of</strong> the provisions in these survey requirements, it is<br />

the intention <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> that the principals, standards and requirements provided herein<br />

shall be minimum standards for the projects involving survey, and where other<br />

Ordinances <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> are more restrictive, such Ordinances shall control, as they exist or<br />

may be amended. Refer to the <strong>Frisco</strong> Survey MonumentMetadata<br />

10.02 Survey Markers and Monumentation<br />

A. Markers<br />

Markers consisting <strong>of</strong> minimum 3/8" diameter steel rods at least 24" long with caps identifying<br />

responsible surveying firm or RPLS number shall be placed at all:<br />

1. Lot and block corners (wherever a lot line bearing changes);<br />

2. Intersection points <strong>of</strong> alley and block lines;<br />

3. Curve and tangent points along block, lot and right-<strong>of</strong>-way lines within the subdivision; and<br />

4. Right-<strong>of</strong>-way dedications.<br />

B. Monuments<br />

Monuments shall be installed and three dimensional coordinates noted on the Plat. Coordinates<br />

shall be established using the <strong>City</strong>’s Monumentation System and using the <strong>City</strong>’s Combined<br />

Scale Factor.<br />

C. Subdivision Monumentation<br />

At least two Markers shall be placed at property corners in addition to at least two Monuments at<br />

opposing ends <strong>of</strong> the property.<br />

D. Capital Improvements Project Monuments<br />

Found existing right-<strong>of</strong>-way monuments, survey markers, or property corners, and proposed<br />

monuments shall be shown on the construction drawings and located by station and <strong>of</strong>fset, right<br />

or left from the control line, base line or center line, or by northing and easting.<br />

E. If new construction will damage, destroy, or alter existing survey markers, monuments, or<br />

property corners, they must be re-set prior to final acceptance.<br />
