D. The pump, pipe connection, and all necessary apparatus including gauges and meters shall<br />

be furnished by the Contractor. The <strong>City</strong> will furnish water for filling lines and making tests<br />

through existing mains.<br />

E. The test pressure shall be measured at the point <strong>of</strong> lowest elevation.<br />

F. Before applying the specified test pressure, all air shall be expelled from the pipe. To<br />

accomplish this, taps shall be made, if necessary, at the points <strong>of</strong> highest elevation and<br />

afterwards tightly plugged.<br />

G. At intervals during the test the entire route <strong>of</strong> the pipe line shall be inspected to locate any<br />

leaks or breaks. Any defective joints, cracked or defective pipe, fittings or valves<br />

discovered in consequence <strong>of</strong> this pressure test shall be removed and replaced with sound<br />

material in the manner provided, and the test shall be repeated until satisfactory results are<br />

obtained.<br />
