<strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>Standards</strong><br />

Section 1 – General Requirements<br />

1.01 Short Title<br />

These are hereby adopted as a part <strong>of</strong> the “<strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>Standards</strong>”, Sections 1 – 10 and Appendices,<br />

including Technical Specifications and Standard Construction Details which shall be in full force and<br />

effect from and after the effective date <strong>of</strong> adoption <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>Standards</strong>.<br />

1.02 Interpretation<br />

In the interpretation and application <strong>of</strong> the provisions <strong>of</strong> these regulations, it is the intention <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong><br />

Council that the principles, standards and requirements provided for herein shall be minimum<br />

requirements for the design <strong>of</strong> both subdivisions and municipal capital projects in the <strong>City</strong>, and, where<br />

other <strong>City</strong> ordinances or regulations <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> are more restrictive in their requirements, such other<br />

ordinances or regulations shall govern.<br />

The <strong>City</strong> has adopted various ordinances and master plans, which address various requirements not<br />

explicitly included in the <strong>Engineering</strong> <strong>Standards</strong>, including, but not limited to the following. The Engineer<br />

is responsible for understanding and complying with the <strong>City</strong>’s various ordinances and master plans.<br />

B. Water Capital Improvement Plan 2008 Update<br />

C. Wastewater Capital Improvement Plan 2008 Update<br />

D. Reclaimed Water Capital Improvement Plan 2006<br />

E. Comprehensive Plan;<br />

F. Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance<br />

G. Hike and Bike Master Plan<br />

H. Impact Fee Ordinance<br />

I. International Fire Code (Including Oil and Gas Drilling)<br />

J. Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan;<br />

K. Preston Corridor Access Management Plan;<br />

L. Right-<strong>of</strong>-Way Management Ordinance;<br />

M. Subdivision Ordinance;<br />

N. Tributary Study;<br />

O. Zoning Ordinance;<br />
