Ventilation system shall provide a sufficient supply <strong>of</strong> fresh air and maintain an atmosphere<br />

free <strong>of</strong> toxic or flammable gasses in all underground work areas.<br />

E. Perform all Work in accordance with all current applicable regulations and safety<br />

requirements <strong>of</strong> the Federal, State, and local agencies. Comply with all applicable provisions<br />

<strong>of</strong> 29 CFR Part 1926, Subpart S, Underground Construction and Subpart P, Excavations, by<br />

OSHA. In the event <strong>of</strong> conflict, comply with the more stringent requirements.<br />

F. The Contractor shall develop an emergency response plan for rescuing personnel trapped<br />

underground in a shaft excavation or pipe. Keep on-site all equipment required for emergency<br />

response in accordance with the agency having jurisdiction.<br />
