e. The hinge point of the gate shall be a minimum of eighteen inches (18”) behind back of
the curb. The gate shall open to twenty-four inches (24”) behind back of curb.
f. Gates shall open sideways or swing open in the direction of travel on each side of the
divided entrance.
g. Gates shall be equipped with emergency access devices as required by the Fire
Department.
h. All gates shall provide pedestrian access. The movement of the gates shall not encroach
on sidewalks.
4. Individual gated single-family residences shall have a minimum setback of twenty feet (20’)
from the property line. The movement of the gate(s) shall not encroach on a sidewalk, alley,
or street.
L. Non-Conforming Driveways
1. All nonconforming driveways on a lot, tract, parcel or site shall be allowed to remain in use
until the occurrence of one or more of the following events:
