A. Shop drawings <strong>of</strong> the casing pipe (or carrier pipe for uncased bores) from the manufacturer.<br />

Shop drawings shall include calculations for the design <strong>of</strong> the casing pipe (or carrier pipe for<br />

uncased bores) by a Licensed Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Engineer.<br />

B. Provide Certificate <strong>of</strong> Adequacy <strong>of</strong> Design <strong>of</strong> casing and/or carrier pipe.<br />

C. Provide record data <strong>of</strong> casing insulators including sketches <strong>of</strong> insulators with material<br />

components and dimensions and proposed locations <strong>of</strong> insulators.<br />

D. Provide Pressure Grout material and method.<br />

PART 2 – PRODUCTS<br />

2.01 MATERIALS<br />

A. Refer to Public Works Construction <strong>Standards</strong>, NCTCOG, 4 th Edition, Item 503.2.<br />

B. High Density Polyethylene casing spacers are required unless otherwise specified. Refer to<br />

the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Frisco</strong> Approved Materials List.<br />

C. Steel casing pipe shall be new (or used if approved by the OWNER) and suitable for the<br />

purpose intended and shall have a minimum yield strength <strong>of</strong> 35,000 psi. Casing shall meet<br />

ASTM A-36, ASTM A-570, ASTM A-135, ASTM A-139, or approved equal.<br />

D. Casing pipe shall be coated with coal tar epoxy (15 mils min.) in accordance with AWWA C-<br />

210. Pipe joints shall be welded in accordance with AWWA C-206. After pipe is welded,<br />

coating shall be repaired.<br />

PART 3 – EXECUTION<br />

3.01 GENERAL<br />

A. Refer to Public Works Construction <strong>Standards</strong>, NCTCOG, 4 th Edition, Item 503.3.<br />

B. All casing pipe joints shall be watertight with no water entering the casing from any sources<br />

prior to carrier pipe installation.<br />

C. The carrier pipe shall be installed within the casing between the limits indicated on the Plans<br />

to the specified lines and grades, and utilizing methods which include due regard for safety<br />

<strong>of</strong> workers, adjacent structures and improvements, utilities, and the public.<br />

D. Furnish all necessary equipment, power, water, and utilities for carrier pipe installation,<br />

insulator runner lubricant, grouting, and other associated Work required for the Contractor's<br />

methods <strong>of</strong> construction.<br />

E. Conduct all operations such that trucks and other vehicles do not interfere with traffic or<br />

create a dust or noise nuisance in the streets and to adjacent properties. Promptly clean up,<br />

remove, and dispose <strong>of</strong> spoils and slurry spillage and any slurry discharges.<br />
