Owner considers vulnerable to damage. Such stockades shall be <strong>of</strong> eight foot (8’) long x six<br />

inch (6”) diameter posts vertically buried three feet (3’) deep at six foot (6’) intervals along<br />

the drip line.<br />

D. Where grading or clearing and grubbing operations are to occur between trees that are to be<br />

preserved and protected, the Contractor will prune the lower branches <strong>of</strong> these trees as<br />

necessary to prevent their breakage and to permit access by construction machinery. Branches<br />

will be cut <strong>of</strong>f to the trunk or major limb pursuant to ANSI A300. The Owner may direct that<br />

the Contractor remove additional branches in such a manner that the tree presents a balanced<br />

appearance. Scars will be treated with a heavy coat <strong>of</strong> an approved tree sealant.<br />
