Lack of investment capital to develop the existing
hydropower potentials. Records show that most of
the developed capacity in the African region was
realized through grants or soft loans from foreign
development institutions or countries. Very few
sites have been developed through internal
resources of the related countries.
High competition for investment capital worldwide.
