There are elements within this criterion which cover the legislativerequirements of conducting a business. It is not expected that the assessorwould be familiar with all of these aspects to enable an in-depth examination.It must be remembered that it is the responsibility of the applicantorganisation to provide a truthful assessment of their performance and theassessor’s role is one of verification. As such the assessor should plan to asktargeted questions to elicit information about the applicants’ approaches.2. The <strong>Assessor</strong> should familiarise themselves with the key points of some ofthe legislative requirements. The Department for Business Innovation andSkills and Business Link websites (www.bis.gov.uk andwww.businesslink.gov.uk) provide a summary of the key points on all ofthe legislative requirements within the <strong>ACS</strong> Standard.3.
