2. A zero (0) may advance in multi-go event while a no score<br />
may not. The following will result in a zero (0) score:<br />
a. More than index or first finger between reins.<br />
b. Changing hands or use of two hands. With the<br />
exception of the Junior horses ridden two handed in a<br />
bosal or snaffle bit.<br />
c. Use of the free hand while holding the romal to alter<br />
the tension or length of the reins from the bridle to<br />
the reining hand is considered to be the use of the<br />
two hands. The exception being any place a horse is<br />
allowed to be completely stopped during a pattern.<br />
d. Closed reins are not allowed except as standard romal<br />
reins.<br />
e. Equipment failure that delays completion of pattern;<br />
f. Failure to complete pattern as written.<br />
g. The inclusion of maneuvers not specified, including but<br />
not limited to:<br />
1) Backing more than two (2) strides (Two strides<br />
meaning four steps with the front feet.)<br />
2) Turning more than ninety (90°) degrees.<br />
h. Performing the maneuvers other than in specified<br />
order.<br />
i. Balking or refusal of command.<br />
j. Running away or failing to guide where it becomes<br />
impossible to discern whether the entry is on pattern.<br />
k. Jogging in excess of one-half (1/2) circle or one-half<br />
(1/2) the length of the arena while starting a circle,<br />
circling or exiting a rollback.<br />
l. Overspins of more than one fourth (1/4) turn.<br />
m. Fall to the ground by <strong>Pinto</strong> or rider.<br />
G. Five Point Penalty<br />
The following will result in a reduction of five (5) points:<br />
1. Spurring in front of cinch;<br />
2. Use of free hand to instill fear;<br />
3. Holding saddle or touching horse with freehand;<br />
4. Blatant disobedience including kicking, biting, bucking and<br />
rearing.<br />
H. Two Point Penalty.<br />
The following will result in a reduction of two (2) points:<br />
1. Failure to go beyond markers on stops or rollbacks;<br />
2. Break of gait;<br />
3. Freeze up in spins or rollbacks;<br />
4. On walk in patterns, failure to stop or walk before<br />
executing a lope departure;<br />
5. On run in patterns, failure to be in a lope prior to reaching<br />
the first marker;<br />
6. If a <strong>Pinto</strong> does not completely pass the specified marker<br />
before initiating a stop position.<br />
I. Out-of-Lead<br />
1. Starting circles of figure eights out-of-lead, delayed<br />
changes of lead or figure eights out-of-lead.<br />
2. Each time a <strong>Pinto</strong> is out-of-lead, a judge is required to<br />
penalize by one point.<br />
3. The penalty for being out-of-lead is accumulative, and the<br />
judge will add one penalty point for each one-fourth of the<br />
circumference of a circle or any part thereof that a <strong>Pinto</strong> is<br />
out-of-lead.<br />
a. Delayed change of lead by one stride, 1/2 point;<br />
b. From start to one fourth (1/4) circle, 1 point;<br />
c. From start to one half (1/2) circle, 2 points;<br />
d. From start to three fourth (3/4) circle, 3 points;<br />
e. For the complete circle, 4 points;<br />
J. Other Penalty<br />
