l2. Judging, Trail & Trail in-Hand<br />

A. Trail entries are required to work over and through obstacles.<br />

Failure to attempt to negotiate obstacles in prescribed order<br />

will result in disqualification.<br />

B. <strong>Pinto</strong>s are to be penalized but not disqualified for any<br />

unnecessary delay while approaching an obstacle. Judges<br />

are encouraged to advance on to the next obstacle any entry<br />

taking excessive time at an obstacle. A time limit may not be<br />

placed on the course as a whole or individual obstacles. While<br />

the <strong>Pinto</strong> is on course, the exhibitor’s hands shall be clear of<br />

the horse or pony to avoid cueing.<br />

C. Entries will be evaluated on responsiveness, willingness,<br />

and general attitude. Entries should demonstrate the control,<br />

flexibility, and calmness (sensibility) of the ideal Trail <strong>Horse</strong>,<br />

Pony, Miniature.<br />

D. Entries are to be shown over and through obstacles at a walk,<br />

jog/trot, and lope/canter on a reasonably loose rein without<br />

undue restraint.<br />

E. <strong>Pinto</strong>s are to be judged on performance and way of going with<br />

emphasis on manners, suitability, and appointments.<br />
