(2) Refusing to pull.<br />

(3) Blatant disobedience including kicking, biting,<br />

bucking, rearing and striking.<br />

(4) Refusing to enter the box.<br />

(5) Rearing up in box.<br />

(6) Broken barrier.<br />

d. Disqualified (0) – Score.<br />

(1) Excessive schooling at any time in the arena.<br />

(2) Whipping or hitting the horse with the rope.<br />

(3) If both the header and heeler fail to catch within<br />

one minute from the time the steer leaves the<br />

chute.<br />

(4) Loss of rope by either the header or the heeler.<br />

(5) Failure of the roper on the horse being judged to<br />

catch within one minute. If more than one loop<br />

is thrown, rider must recoil rope and build an<br />

additional loop.<br />

(6) Failure to maintain a dally through the completion<br />

of the run. The rope must be wrapped around the<br />

saddle horn at least one complete turn before it is<br />

considered a dally.<br />

(7) Refusal to face.<br />

e. The following shall be faults scored according to<br />

severity.<br />

(1) Jerking the reins.<br />

(2) Slapping.<br />

(3) Jerking the rope or any unnecessary action to<br />

enhance the performance of the horse or talking<br />

or any noise-making.<br />

(4) Turning around in the box.<br />

(5) Turning head severely.<br />

(6) Squatting in the corner.<br />

(7) Incorrect position.<br />

(8) Failure to rate.<br />

(9) Failure to run to steer.<br />

(10) <strong>Horse</strong> being outrun by the steer.<br />

F. Disqualification— In all Judged Team Roping events, it is an<br />

automatic disqualification when both the Header and Heeler<br />

fail to complete both catches within one (1) minute from the<br />

time the steer leaves the chute.<br />

M6. Judged Team Roping, Heeling<br />

A. Judged Team Roping events will be held under the usual<br />

common standards and conditions. The heading <strong>Horse</strong> or<br />

Pony must start behind barrier. Only the performance of the<br />

<strong>Pinto</strong> is to be judged.<br />

B. The heel catch is defined as a catch which holds from behind<br />

the steer’s shoulder and back, around the flank, or on one<br />

or both heels, but not by the tail only. Any catch made by the<br />

Header not being judged must be around both horns, half<br />

head, or around the neck. The following catches are illegal:<br />

honda passes over one horn and loops the other, loop crosses<br />

itself on the head catch, or loop is in steer’s mouth. Exhibitors<br />

are to stay mounted, and when both ropes are dallied and both<br />

<strong>Pinto</strong>s are facing the stretched steer, the run is completed.<br />

The rope must be wrapped around the saddle horn at least<br />

one (1) complete turn before it is considered a dally. Exhibitors<br />

fifty (50) years of age and over are permitted to have his/her<br />

rope tied onto the saddle horn with the use of a quick release<br />

device when heeling only. If a Header or Heeler drops his/her<br />

rope, the exhibitor being judged will receive no score.<br />

C. Breaking the barrier, or any unnecessary whipping or spurring,<br />

jerking reins, talking, or any noise making, clapping, jerking the<br />
