PtHA may require the owner(s) to provide satisfactory proof of<br />
ownership.<br />
D. The horse owner can pay a non-member fee instead of a<br />
membership.<br />
C3. Color Division Requirements<br />
A. For <strong>Pinto</strong>s with documented color on Outcross Registration<br />
Papers<br />
1. <strong>Pinto</strong> must be already registered with a PtHA approved<br />
outcross registry. See <strong>Rule</strong>s C22, C25, C27 for Outcross<br />
Breeds.<br />
2. Must have the following listed on the Outcross Papers:<br />
a. <strong>Pinto</strong> Markings<br />
b. Belly spots<br />
c. High Leg White<br />
d. Other verbiage indicating white or excessive white<br />
3. Examples of Documented Color on Outcross Papers:<br />
a. APHA - any horse in the Regular Registry<br />
b. AMHA, AMHR - any horse that documents “<strong>Pinto</strong>” on<br />
the papers<br />
c. AHA - any horse with a belly spot or high leg white on<br />
the registration papers<br />
4. Any Outcross papers with verbiage such as “excessive<br />
white” will be considered on an individual basis.<br />
B. For <strong>Pinto</strong>s with undocumented or unknown parentage or<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong>s with undocumented color on Outcross Registration<br />
Papers<br />
1. <strong>Horse</strong> Minimum Color Requirements – Four (4) cumulative<br />
square inches of eligible white in qualifying zone.<br />
2. Pony Minimum Color Requirements - Three (3) cumulative<br />
square inches of eligible white in qualifying zone.<br />
3. Miniature Minimum Color Requirements - Two (2)<br />
cumulative square inches of eligible white in qualifying<br />
zone.<br />
C. Qualifying White<br />
1. All white with some underlying pink skin above a level<br />
line around the leg at the center of the knee, which is<br />
determined by using the bony protrusion on the back of<br />
the knee as the starting point and drawing a level line<br />
horizontally around the knee, and a level line around<br />
the leg at the point of the hock, which is determined<br />
by using the point of the hock and drawing a level line<br />
horizontally around the hock, is eligible color. The stated<br />
minimum color requirements are accumulative/total. Not all<br />
qualifying color must be in the same single location/spot.<br />
2. White with some underlying pink skin from the base of the<br />
ear horizontally to the base of the other ear, from the base<br />
of the ear to the outside corner of the eye, continuing to<br />
the corner of the mouth and from the corner of the mouth,<br />
under the chin, to the other corner of the mouth.<br />
3. Eligible white with underlying pink skin from the inside area<br />
of the ear is also included.<br />
4. White with some underlying pink skin that starts in an<br />
eligible zone and continues into an ineligible zone to be<br />
counted, except for blaze white and lower lip white which<br />
will not count as eligible white.<br />
5. True white markings – True white markings have<br />
underlying pink skin. Tail white with underlying pink skin is<br />
to count as eligible color.<br />
