5. Age groups may be combined when there are insufficient<br />

entries for points in one of the age groups.<br />

B. When divided into two or more age groups, no <strong>Horse</strong> or Pony<br />

shall compete in more than one age section of the same class<br />

(i.e., the same <strong>Pinto</strong> may not be used in both the 13 & Under<br />

and the 14-18 classes of YA Western Pleasure at one show.)<br />

This rule does not apply to Showmanship and Equitation<br />

classes where the exhibitor only is being judged.<br />

C. Youth Halter classes may be held and divided at the Show<br />

Committee’s discretion.<br />

w3. ownership<br />

A. <strong>Pinto</strong>s owned or leased by the exhibitor or a member of his/<br />

her immediate family are eligible to be shown in this division.<br />

Farm, ranch or corporation ownership is permissible if owned<br />

solely by members of the immediate family. (See <strong>Rule</strong> H2,<br />

B.2) Such ownership must be evidenced by the records of this<br />

<strong>Association</strong> and the Registration Certificate at the time the<br />

<strong>Pinto</strong> is entered in any Youth class.<br />

B. Leased <strong>Horse</strong>s – Leased <strong>Pinto</strong>s are eligible in this division<br />

provided a PtHA Lease Notification form has been filed,<br />

along with the appropriate fees, at the PtHA office and official<br />

confirmation has been received by the lessee.<br />

C. Competitive Unite – A competitive unit shall consist of one<br />

Youth and one PtHA-registered animal. Points will not be<br />

combined with two or more animals. Points may not be<br />

transferred from one animal to another.<br />

D. <strong>Horse</strong>s may cross enter between Youth, Amateur and Open<br />

classes at the same show.<br />

E. Only individuals holding current PtHA Youth membership<br />

card or having applied for same, may enter Youth classes at<br />

approved PtHA ROM shows.<br />

w4. stallions<br />

A. No stallions or colts are permitted in Youth Activities events.<br />

B. Colts and stallions may not be exhibited by persons under 19<br />

years of age.<br />

C. For showing purposes the <strong>Association</strong> considers a colt an<br />

unaltered male under the age of four years. An altered male is<br />

a gelding, regardless of age.<br />

w5. Combined Classes<br />

A. Youth English and Western Classes or styles of showing can<br />

not be combined, with the exception of the following.<br />

1. Trail<br />

2. Side Saddle,<br />

3. YA Novice Walk/Trot<br />

4. YA Novice Showmanship<br />

5. YA Leadline<br />

B. Hunter Seat & Saddle Seat English Pleasure and Hunter Seat<br />

& Saddle Seat Equitation events may be combined at the<br />

option of Show Committees.<br />

w6. Halter<br />

A. YA classes at Halter may be offered. (i.e., YA Geldings, YA<br />

Mares)<br />

B. Classes may be divided by age and/or type.<br />

w7. Timed Events<br />

<strong>Horse</strong> distances only shall be used in all Youth Activities or<br />

Amateur Gymkhana classes.<br />

w8. Designated youth Classes (ya)<br />

To be eligible for Youth (YA) points, all classes must be<br />

designated by “YA” before the class title.<br />

w9. approved Classes<br />

A. In addition to regular performance division events, additional<br />

classes are included in the Youth Activities division as noted.<br />
