9. The Halter Exhibitor and Driving Exhibitor must the same<br />
individual.<br />
P5. Roadster<br />
A. General Regulations and Requirements<br />
1. Entries shall be serviceably sound and shown without<br />
artificial appliances.<br />
2. Unweighted quarter boots or rubber bell boots are optional<br />
in all classes.<br />
3. Entries shall be shown with natural or shortened mane<br />
and tail. Roached mane is prohibited. Saddle type <strong>Pinto</strong>s<br />
only may have inconspicuously applied hair in mane<br />
or tail switch. All other types – Pleasure, Hunter and<br />
Stock – must conform to the Pleasure type regulations<br />
regarding manes and tails. Non-conforming entries must<br />
be eliminated.<br />
4. Entry number must be worn on the back of the exhibitor.<br />
B. Attire<br />
Exhibitors shall wear stable colors, cap and jacket to<br />
match.<br />
C. Gaits – The principle gait assignment for Roadsters is the trot.<br />
Entries shall be asked to trot at three different speeds: the slow<br />
jog trot, the fast road gait, and then at full speed.<br />
1. At all speeds, <strong>Pinto</strong>s should work in form, with chins set<br />
and legs working beneath them, going in a collected<br />
manner.<br />
2. At the trot, an entry whose action features folding of knees,<br />
flexing of hocks, with straight, true action of front legs<br />
and with hocks carried close together and with motions<br />
coordinated, is executing a balanced trot. Long, sprawling<br />
action in front, dragging or trailing hind legs and straddlegaited<br />
action behind makes a balanced trot impossible.<br />
Pacey-gaited or mixy-gaited entries, that pace and rack the<br />
turns, or break and run on the turns, shall be penalized.<br />
D. Class Procedure<br />
1. Roadsters must enter the ring clockwise at a jog trot, then<br />
show at the road gait; turn counter-clockwise at the jog<br />
trot, show at the road gait and then trot at speed.<br />
2. Entries should be light-mouthed, capable of being taken<br />
up at any time, willing to walk and stand well when being<br />
judged in the center of the ring.<br />
3. When entries are lined up, no attendant is permitted and<br />
driver shall not leave his/her vehicle except for necessary<br />
adjustments.<br />
P6. Roadster To Bike<br />
A. <strong>Pinto</strong> to be shown in light harness with blinkers of square<br />
pattern, snaffle bit and overcheck to a suitable two-wheeled<br />
vehicle, preferably a bike.<br />
B. Entries shall show animation, brilliance and presence. To enter<br />
ring clockwise, at a jog trot.<br />
C. When entries are lined up, no attendant is permitted and<br />
driver shall not leave his/her vehicle except for necessary<br />
adjustments. He/she may, however, uncheck and stand at the<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong>’s head when left in the center of the ring while a part of<br />
the class is on the rail for a workout.<br />
D. To be shown at a jog trot, road gait, and then at speed.<br />
E. To be judged on performance, speed, quality, manners,<br />
conformation and suitability.<br />
P7. obstacle Driving<br />
A. General Regulations and Requirements<br />
1. <strong>Pinto</strong>s are required to work over and through obstacles.<br />
2. The Show Committee and/or course designer must keep<br />
in mind that the course must accommodate suitable two<br />
or four-wheel vehicles. <strong>Pinto</strong>s in the obstacle driving class<br />
