unit, or YA unit which meet the requirements set forth in the<br />
following section. A <strong>Pinto</strong>, or AM unit, or YA unit is awarded<br />
the title “PtHA Legion of Merit” when they have met the<br />
following criteria in the respective divisions:<br />
A. Open, <strong>Horse</strong>, Pony, Miniature: earned 650 or more points in<br />
competition in PtHA-approved shows (Color classes do not<br />
count) provided that:<br />
1. The points have been won in twelve (12) or more shows<br />
and under forty (40) or more different judges.<br />
2. At least 185 of the points have been won in point-earning<br />
equivalent Halter classes.<br />
3. At least 125 of the Halter points have been won in Class A<br />
rated shows.<br />
4. The Halter record includes points earned at Class A<br />
rated shows as a two-year-old or older, all as the same<br />
conformation type, and that these were won under at least<br />
five (5) different judges.<br />
5. At least 400 of the points have been won in ROM<br />
approved performance or racing events, earned as a twoyear-old<br />
or older.<br />
6. At least 250 of the performance points have been won in<br />
Class A rated shows.<br />
7. The <strong>Pinto</strong> has earned a minimum of four (4) Register<br />
Of Merit Certificates in either performance or racing<br />
events regardless of the total number of points that<br />
it has otherwise accumulated. A pony under 50” and<br />
ponies shown exclusively in-cart or in-hand classes<br />
and miniatures must have earned two (2) ROM’s in<br />
performance events.<br />
8. The <strong>Pinto</strong> has earned one (1) Register of Excellence award<br />
in an approved individual performance or racing event,<br />
regardless of the total number of points it has otherwise<br />
accumulated.<br />
9. The <strong>Pinto</strong> must have earned a minimum of ten (10)<br />
points each in at least six (6) different ROM performance<br />
or racing events. A Pony under 50” and Ponies shown<br />
exclusively in-cart or in-hand classes and Miniatures must<br />
have earned a minimum of ten (10) points in at least three<br />
(3) ROM performance events.<br />
10. At least ten (10) Halter points and thirty (30) performance<br />
points must be earned through placings at a Jubilee Show,<br />
Regional Show, a Congress Show, or <strong>Pinto</strong> World Show.<br />
B. AM unit: earned 650 or more points in competition in PtHA<br />
approved shows (except where specifically noted) provided that:<br />
1. The points have been won in twelve (12) or more shows<br />
and under thirty (30) or more different judges.<br />
2. At least 185 of the points have been won in either Western<br />
or English Showmanship, or a combination of 250 points in<br />
English and Western Showmanship.<br />
3. The Showmanship record includes points earned at Class<br />
A rated shows, and that these were won under at least five<br />
(5) different judges.<br />
4. At least 100 of the Showmanship points have been won in<br />
Class A rated shows.<br />
5. At least 400 of the points have been won in approved<br />
performance and/or Equitation, <strong>Horse</strong>manship or<br />
Reinsmanship events.<br />
6. At least 225 of the performance and/or Equitation,<br />
<strong>Horse</strong>manship, or Reinsmanship points have been won in<br />
Class A rated shows.<br />
7. The AM unit has earned a minimum of four (4) Amateur<br />
Register Of Merit Certificates in approved individual<br />
performance and/or Equitation events, regardless of<br />
