to comply with such a request shall constitute grounds<br />
for immediate disqualification of the horse from further<br />
participation at the show, and all other shows for a period<br />
as determined by the PtHA Executive Committee or its<br />
appointed appropriate Committee, and may constitute<br />
grounds for disciplinary action against the responsible<br />
parties.<br />
8. Cooperation with the Veterinarian and/or his/her agents<br />
and/or <strong>Association</strong> Representative shall include, but not be<br />
limited to:<br />
a. Taking the <strong>Pinto</strong> immediately to the location selected<br />
by the appointed Veterinarian and/or his/her agents<br />
for testing, and presenting the <strong>Pinto</strong> for testing and<br />
submitting the Registration Certificate or a photocopy<br />
for the Veterinarian’s report;<br />
b. Assisting the Veterinarian and/or his/her agents<br />
in procuring the sample promptly, including, but<br />
not limited to, removing equipment from the <strong>Pinto</strong>,<br />
leaving it quietly in the stall and avoiding distractions<br />
to it. Schooling, lengthy cooling out, bandaging and<br />
other delays of this type may be construed as noncooperation;<br />
c. Polite attitude and actions toward the Veterinarian and/<br />
or his/her agents and/or <strong>Association</strong> Representative;<br />
and<br />
d. Failure to cooperate shall be considered a refusal.<br />
9. <strong>Pinto</strong>s in competition at recognized shows are subject to<br />
examination by a licensed Veterinarian or an <strong>Association</strong><br />
Representative who must be approved by the PtHA. The<br />
examination may include positive identification, physical,<br />
saliva, urine, blood test or other tests or procedures at<br />
the discretion of said licensed Veterinarian necessary to<br />
effectuate the purposes of this rule. Said Veterinarian may<br />
examine any or all <strong>Pinto</strong>s in the class(es) in a show, or any<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong> entered in any class, whether in competition or not,<br />
or any <strong>Pinto</strong> scratched or withdrawn (or which simply fails<br />
to appear for competition) by any other exhibitor within<br />
twenty-four (24) hours prior to the class for which it has<br />
been entered.<br />
10. A <strong>Pinto</strong> that has received medication that contains a<br />
prohibited substance may be shown if the following<br />
requirements have been met and the information<br />
requested is furnished in writing to the Show management,<br />
as provided below: (Medication Declaration Form)<br />
a. The medication must be therapeutic and necessary<br />
for treatment of an illness or injury. (Administration of<br />
a prohibited substance for the purpose of shipping,<br />
clipping, etc., is not considered therapeutic.)<br />
b. The <strong>Pinto</strong> must be withdrawn from competition for a<br />
period of not less than twenty-four (24) hours after the<br />
medication is administered, provided the medication is<br />
in violation of Drug and Medication <strong>Rule</strong>;<br />
c. The name of the person administering the drug and,<br />
if a prescribed drug, the name of the Veterinarian<br />
prescribing the drug;<br />
d. Identification of medication – the amount, strength and<br />
mode of administration;<br />
e. Date and time of administration;<br />
f. Identification of <strong>Pinto</strong> – its name, age, sex, color and<br />
entry number;<br />
g. Diagnosis and reason for administration;<br />
h. Statement signed by person administering the<br />
medication;<br />
