K11. western Disciplined Rail<br />
A. General<br />
1. This class is to show the ability of a highly trained Western<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong>. Appointments shall follow those of pleasure classes.<br />
2. Judge shall work the <strong>Pinto</strong>s adequately but must not<br />
overwork the entries. This is not a game or a fault and out<br />
class, and shall not be judged on an elimination basis.<br />
Final judging shall be on the basis of the best overall<br />
disciplined rail performance. At all times, the safety of the<br />
<strong>Horse</strong>s or Ponies and exhibitors to be the first concern.<br />
3. Disciplined Rail classes must be restricted to either<br />
Western or English equipment. No points will be awarded<br />
to mixed seat classes.<br />
B. Disciplined Rail <strong>Horse</strong>, Pony Performance<br />
1. The class routine shall be to perform work on the rail, and<br />
may include, but is not limited to:<br />
a. A short walk, jog or slow lope.<br />
b. A hand gallop (no more than eight horses at a time,<br />
twice around the ring).<br />
c. Flying changes of lead each way of the ring.<br />
d. Starting into a lope from a halt.<br />
e. Sliding stop.<br />
f. Starting and traveling on the counter lope<br />
g. Side pass both left and right (once each way).<br />
h. Turn on forehand and turn on hind quarter (once each<br />
way).<br />
i. Dismount and mount from either side.<br />
j. Stand quietly.<br />
k. Judge may ask for additional safe work.<br />
2. To be judged on performance, manners and conformation.<br />
K12. western ideal <strong>Pinto</strong><br />
A. General<br />
1. The Ideal <strong>Pinto</strong> Class is a performance event which is<br />
unique to the <strong>Pinto</strong> breed. This class displays the balance<br />
required of a pleasure horse or pony which also exhibits<br />
good conformation and exceptional markings.<br />
2 Classes may be combined by type (i.e. Ideal <strong>Pinto</strong><br />
Western, All Types)<br />
3. <strong>Pinto</strong>s to be stripped and judged on conformation and<br />
markings after the under saddle work.<br />
4. To be judged 50 percent on performance and manners,<br />
25 percent on conformation, and 25 percent on <strong>Pinto</strong><br />
markings.<br />
5. Wheel barrows, carts or any type of mechanical apparatus<br />
is prohibited in the ring.<br />
6. Crop or whip, with no appendage, is optional, that is<br />
suitable to type of <strong>Pinto</strong> that is exhibited.<br />
B. Ideal <strong>Pinto</strong> Class Performance<br />
1. To be shown at a walk, jog, and lope, both ways of the ring<br />
on a reasonably loose rein, without undue restraint.<br />
2. Extended jog maybe required.<br />
3. <strong>Pinto</strong>s are required to back.<br />
C. Ideal <strong>Pinto</strong> Class Grooming<br />
1. Grooms are to be appropriately attired. Refer to <strong>Rule</strong> G8.<br />
2. Each Exhibitor may have up to two (2) grooms/attendants<br />
to assist with stripping the <strong>Pinto</strong> and grooming.<br />
3. Grooms shall wait at the gate until the announcer/ring<br />
steward indicates that the judge/s have directed the<br />
grooms/attendants to enter the ring.<br />
4. Grooms/attendants are to walk to the Exhibitor and wait<br />
until the announcement is made to start grooming. The<br />
