4. The order to reverse may be executed by turning either<br />
toward or away from the rail.<br />
5. Due to difficulty of properly fitting the tack, exhibitors shall<br />
not be asked to change mounts.<br />
6. <strong>Pinto</strong>s shall be required to back in a straight line in all<br />
classes.<br />
F. Additional Work<br />
1. Exhibitors will perform not only the ring routine demanded<br />
of them, but also should be able to perform whatever<br />
additional tests from those listed below the judge may<br />
deem advisable to ask of them.<br />
2. Tests may be performed either collectively or individually,<br />
but no other test may be used.<br />
a. Individual performance on the rail.<br />
b. Figure eight at a jog.<br />
c. Lope and stop.<br />
d. Figure eight at lope on correct lead, demonstrating<br />
simple change of lead. (This is a change whereby the<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong> is brought back into a walk or jog and restarted<br />
into a lope on the opposite lead.) One figure eight<br />
demonstrates two changes of lead and is completed<br />
by closing up the last circle and stopping in the center<br />
of the eight.<br />
e. Ride without stirrups.<br />
f. Figure eight at lope on correct lead, demonstrating<br />
flying change of lead.<br />
g. Change leads down center of ring, demonstrating<br />
simple change of lead.<br />
h. Ride serpentine course, demonstrating flying change<br />
of lead at each change of direction.<br />
i. Demonstrate sliding stop.<br />
j. Execute 360° turns (spins).<br />
k. Roll backs.<br />
G. Judging<br />
1. Exhibitors to be judged on seat, hands, performance of<br />
mount, appointments of mount and rider and suitability of<br />
mount to rider.<br />
2. Good hands are paramount.<br />
3. Results as shown by the performance of the mount are not<br />
to be considered more important than the method used in<br />
obtaining them.<br />
T4. Hunter seat Equitation, Hunter seat Equitation over<br />
Fences<br />
A. Tack and Attire<br />
1. Attire and equipment will be the same as in Hunter Seat.<br />
2. Clothing must be clean, workmanlike and neat.<br />
3. The saddle must fit the exhibitor.<br />
4. A judge may penalize a <strong>Pinto</strong> with non-conventional types<br />
of bits or nose bands.<br />
5. Boots or bandages are prohibited in all classes and<br />
martingales are prohibited in classes not to jump (flat<br />
classes).<br />
6. Spurs must be of the unrowelled type.<br />
7. Crops or bats are optional and must not exceed thirty (30)<br />
inches.<br />
B. Hands/Reins<br />
1. Hands should be over and in front on <strong>Pinto</strong>’s withers,<br />
knuckles 30° inside the vertical.<br />
2. Hands are slightly apart and making a straight line from<br />
<strong>Pinto</strong>’s mouth to exhibitor’s elbow.<br />
3. Method of holding reins is optional and the excess rein<br />
may fall on either side. However, all reins must be picked<br />
up at the same time.<br />
