fences (40 percent). The fences will not exceed 2’6”.<br />

Each competitor will be judged on position, seat, and<br />

effective use of aids. The competitor must ride the<br />

same horse throughout.<br />

d. Eventing Equitation Tests – Open to riders 14-18 years<br />

of age, on any horse. The test shall involve a short<br />

dressage test (40 percent), and jumping approximately<br />

10 cross-country type obstacles not to exceed 3’7”<br />

(60 percent). The jumping may be in an arena or on<br />

a short cross-country course. Each competitor will be<br />

judged on position, seat, and effective use of aids. The<br />

competitor must ride the same horse throughout.<br />

e. Young Event <strong>Horse</strong> Tests – Open to four and five year<br />

old horses that have never competed in a <strong>Horse</strong> Trial<br />

at the Preliminary Level, with any rider. The test shall<br />

involve a short dressage test (40 percent), jumping in<br />

an arena 6 or 7 fences up to 3’6” (4 year old) or 3’9” (5<br />

year old) in height (40 percent), and a final judging of<br />

horses shown in hand for conformation, suitability, and<br />

presence (20 percent). The same competitor must ride<br />

the same horse throughout.<br />

C. Points<br />

1. No points will be separated from an Eventing score<br />

and applied to any other ROM point-earning event (i.e..<br />

Dressage scores from Eventing may not be used toward a<br />

Dressage ROM).<br />

2. Team or individual gold, silver, or bronze medal placings<br />

in International Events, governed by the current rules of<br />

the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), will receive<br />

points on the following basis:<br />

a. Gold Medal – 250 points<br />

b. Silver Medal – 200 points<br />

c. Bronze Medal – 175 points<br />

d. 4th – 150 points<br />

e. 5th – 125 points<br />

f. 6th – 100 points<br />

3. Team or Individual gold, silver, or bronze medal placings in<br />

USEF recognized Eventing Three-Day Events will receive<br />

points on the following basis:<br />

a. Gold Medal – 50 points<br />

b. Silver Medal – 40 points<br />

c. Bronze Medal – 35 points<br />

d. 4th – 20 points<br />

e. 5th – 15 points<br />

f. 6th – 10 points<br />

4. Individual Placings in USEF recognized Three Day Events,<br />

Two-Day Events, <strong>Horse</strong> Trials, or Tests will receive points<br />

based on the regular ROM point scale times the number<br />

of days of the competition (i.e.. Two-Day Event receives<br />

double points).<br />

R6. longe line, yearling<br />

A. General Regulations and Requirements<br />

1. These classes are eligible for Register Of Merit (ROM) and<br />

Register of Excellence (ROE) awards only.<br />

2. In no case will Longe Line points be counted toward any<br />

other awards in the PtHA Champion and ROM program.<br />

3. This class is open only to yearlings.<br />

4. This class is for all types.<br />

5. An exhibitor may show only one entry per class. The same<br />

exhibitor must show the entry in both the Conformation<br />

and Longeing elements of the class.<br />

6. A five (5) minute warm-up period of all exhibitors and<br />

<strong>Pinto</strong>s will be held prior to Longe Line Class.<br />
