b. Aforementioned documents and fees must be<br />

forwarded to the PtHA business office within 120<br />

days of the sale or change of ownership of the<br />

animal. Thereafter, a penalty fee must accompany the<br />

applications for transfer.<br />

C14. Changing the name of a Registered <strong>Pinto</strong><br />

1. After a Registration Certificate has been issued, any<br />

change to the registered name of a <strong>Pinto</strong> is considered a<br />

name change and subject to the following provisions:<br />

2. The name of a registered <strong>Pinto</strong> may be changed upon<br />

written request accompanied by the Registration Certificate<br />

and the proper fee.<br />

3. The requested name must comply with all rules concerning<br />

naming a <strong>Pinto</strong>. PtHA reserves the right to deny a name<br />

change when a <strong>Pinto</strong> has an extensive performance and/or<br />

race record or progeny record.<br />

C15. Rush Fees<br />

Additional fees apply for PtHA’s Rush Fee Service. Any<br />

Registration Certificates or work requested in less than<br />

six weeks from the date they are received by PtHA will be<br />

considered rush work. The rush fee is a special handling<br />

fee in addition to the regular fees and must accompany<br />

the application or work. The time for complete processing<br />

is guaranteed only if work is complete and correct when<br />

received. See Current Fee Schedule.<br />

C16. Breeder - Definition<br />

A. The breeder of a <strong>Pinto</strong> is the recorded/documented owner<br />

of the mare (dam) at the time she is serviced or bred by the<br />

stallion, except when a mare is held under lease at the time of<br />

breeding (and written notification of such lease signed by the<br />

lessor is on file with PtHA at the time of registration), in which<br />

event the Registration Certificate shall show the lessee as the<br />

breeder.<br />

B. The name of the breeder on the Registration Application must<br />

exactly match the name of the owner of the dam as it appears<br />

on the dam’s Registration Certificates or on the official lease<br />

agreement.<br />

C17. Breeder’s Certificates - Definition<br />

A. A complete breeder’s certificate, signed by the recorded/<br />

documented owner(s) of the sire and dam at the time of<br />

service, must be submitted with the application for registration.<br />

A current copy of the approved outcross Registration<br />

Certificate verifying current ownership and pedigree may be<br />

submitted in lieu of the breeder’s certificate.<br />

B. When a stallion or mare is bred under a lease agreement,<br />

a copy of which is filed with the <strong>Association</strong> office, the<br />

<strong>Association</strong> will accept the signature of such lessee on<br />

breeder’s certificates and stallion breeding reports.<br />

C. Upon cancellation or other termination of any such lease<br />

agreement, the owner shall immediately give written notice<br />

to the <strong>Association</strong> and to the lessee, and signature of such<br />

lessee on breeder’s certificates or stallion breeding reports<br />

will not thereafter be recognized except for breedings which<br />

occurred prior to the date such notice is received.<br />

D. There will be no alterations to information on breeder’s<br />

certificates. A breeder’s certificate on which information has<br />

been changed shall not be acceptable for the purpose of<br />

registering a horse.<br />

C18. stallion Breeding Reports<br />

A. On or before December 31 of the breeding year, owners or<br />

lessees of any registered <strong>Pinto</strong> horse, pony, or miniature<br />

<strong>2011</strong> PtHA <strong>Rule</strong> <strong>Book</strong> 45<br />
