Welded blanks comprising different materials, thicknesses or coatings<br />

are known as tailored blanks. The most important benefits <strong>of</strong>fered by<br />

tailored blanks are weight savings and also reduction <strong>of</strong> the number <strong>of</strong><br />

parts required to form assemblies, for example in the case <strong>of</strong> car body<br />
