Situations<br />

Voici quelques exemples de situations d’évaluation d’expression orale qui permettent à la fois :<br />

- d’évaluer le niveau de maîtrise de la compétence orale<br />

- et d’amener l’élève à exploiter de façon personnelle les thématiques développées au<br />

cours de l’année<br />

1. You have been invited to a CNN or NBC talk show along with other guests who have survived /<br />

experienced the attack of September 11 th , or another (terrorist) attack somewhere else in the world.<br />

Answer the presenter’s (and other guests’) questions and ask questions to the other people. Exchange<br />

ideas with them and share your opinions.<br />

-an Israeli woman who married a Palestinian 3<br />

weeks ago<br />

-The widow of a fireman who participated in<br />

the evacuation of the twin towers and died<br />

tragically<br />

Dilima, a friend of Biko, who saw the South<br />

Time : 7 p.m<br />

-A Catholic politician (ex : Gerry Adams)<br />

who holds a very important position in Belfast<br />

- a French doctor (MSF) who participated in<br />

the evacuation of the innocent victims, mainly<br />

children, in Jammu, India, after a Pakistani<br />

attack<br />

-the TV - presenter is your teacher<br />

YOU MUST SPEAK A MAXIMUM WHILE ANSWERING THE QUESTIONS ( more than a few<br />

seconds ) AND YOU MUST ASK QUESTIONS TOO<br />

2. John Briley has been banned in his own country for trying to publish a book against the System.<br />

Play the part of his lawyer and prepare his defence with him.<br />

-Ask him questions to get to know why he was banned.<br />

-Tell him what you intend to do to defend him, though you know your power is limited !<br />

-Finish your interview with an exchange of ideas about extreme ways of governing, such as apartheid.<br />

from and what it consists in.<br />
