TABLE OF PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS
Effect
After turning on the unit, alarm E41
appears on the microcomputer display
(manual re-arm)
There are unusual noises or vibrations
coming from the hydraulic circuit
When the chiller is turned on (summer/
winter selector in summer position), the
microprocessor remains switched off and
at the same time, the orange flushing
warning light flashes.
Alarm E 01 appears (manual re-arm)
Alarm E 02 appears (5 times in an hour,
automatic and manual re-arm)
Alarm E 05 appears (manual re-arm)
Cause
The water does not circulate well in the
system.
There is air inside the circuit.
The following could have intervened:
• the minimum level float
• the maximum level float
The high-pressure pressure switch has
intervened.
The low pressure alarm has been
triggered
Too much anti-freeze in the circuit
The anti-freeze minimum temperature
alarm has intervened.
The outlet water temperature has fallen
below 3°C.
Solution
Check that: the interception valves are
open, that the 3-way valve for the hot-cold
deviation is in the correct position, that
there are no air bubbles in the circuit,
that at least one of the user-units has the
circuit open or is fitted with a three-way
valve, that the external sieve filter is not
blocked, that the water pressure in the
system is correct, that the circulation
pump is working correctly (unblock if
necessary)
Bleed the air both with the external units
and the vent on the machine inertial tank
and return the circuit to the correct load
pressure.
Check that the suction pressure
(hydraulic circuit return) is more than 0.6
BAR with the pump ON.
Check that the mains water supply is
open. Check that the water drain is
connected correctly and there are no
obstructions.
Open the front panel and the front
protection of the cooling water tank.
Check: with a tester the correct working
efficiency of the floats, the drainage pump,
the hot water solenoid valve (that must
only open with the go-ahead of the level fl
oat that is between the minimum and
maximum).
Check that there is mains water supply
Ensure that the air inlet and outlet pipes
and the external grills are not blocked.
If the unit has already been used for more
than a year, clean the condenser and
check the working efficiency of the
cooling water recirculation and drainage
pumps.
Ensure that the hydraulic circuit closing
valves are open.
Check that there is a good water
circulation (no air in the system, the
deviation valves are in the correct
position, sieve filters are clean etc.)
Check the inflow of the coolant.
Check that the rooms are not too cold for
the chiller operation (T< 10 °C).
Check that there is not an excessive
quantity of anti-freeze (more than 40%)
in the hydraulic circuit.
Check that there is nothing that impedes
the good water circulation in the system
(air, valves partially closed, sieve filter
blocked, etc).
Check that the thermal difference between
inlet and outlet is between 4 and 6°C -
checking the parameter t02 (see
paragraph 3.2.2)"
Check the correct positioning of the inlet
probe checking that the temperature
shown by the controller on the display is
consistent with the temperature of inlet
water to the chiller
