Il disco è già stato registrato e
mixato per metà in California da
Bill Hare (un mito di sound
ingeneer per le band vocali). Al
disco parteciperanno Morgan,
Marco Mengoni e alcuni grandi
donne della canzone italiana. Sarà
una sorta di songbook di pietre
miliari della canzone ri-arrangiate
e “clusterizzate” con tre inediti
dei nostri.

After your latest sstteepp, of 2009,
you are going to produce a new
work. Can you give us a sneak
preview?
Half the record was recorded and
mixed in California by Bill Hare (a
legendary sound engineer for vocal
bands). Participating in the record
will be Morgan, Marco Mengoni
and some of the Italian women
greats. It will be a sort of songbook
of milestones of rearranged and
clustered songs with three brand
new ones of ours.

Maria Pierantoni Giua e del chitarrista della vecchia Genova Armando Corsi,
quarant’anni di musica passati dalle osterie dei caruggi, le crociere in America
Latina e alcune grandi collaborazioni (da Fossati a Paco de Lucia). Un concerto e
un disco nati da un incontro e dalla voglia di condividere l’amore per la musica
e le sue strade. In uscita il 18 novembre.
A double album which brings together the sonority of the young singer-songwriter,
Giua and the guitarist of Vecchia Genova, Armando Corsi, who has spent forty years
of music in taverns in the old city, on cruise ships in Latin America, and done some
great collaborations (from Fossati to Paco de Lucia). A concert and an album that
were born from an encounter and the desire to share their love for music and its
streets. Out on November 18.

Uscito per Urtovox alla fine di settembre, Il problema di girarsi è l’esordio
solista del leader dei genovesi Numero6 Michele Bitossi. Dodici tracce (più la
bonus track Ortica) dalla prosa fresca e diretta, sospesa tra pezzi scanzonati e
bilanci di vita.
Titolo e linguaggio attingono dalle locuzioni coniate dal mitico telecronista Rai
Bruno Pizzul, figura storica di un calcio genuino che non c’è più, metafora
calcistica usata per riscoprire un tipo di
scrittura musicale spontanea, senza
troppi calcoli né fronzoli.
«Semplicemente sentivo di avere alcune
cose da dire e di volerlo fare in modo
spontaneo - racconta il frontman della
band genovese di I Love you fortissimo
– arrangiando e producendo canzoni il
più possibile dirette. L’obiettivo
principale era di spogliare la mia
scrittura da asperità gratuite e
autocompiaciute ed ermetismi forzati».
Realizzato l’album con i contributi alla
chitarra di Mattia Cominotto (Meganoidi e produttore artistico dell’album), di
Giulio Gaietto al basso, Nicola Magri (ex Numero6) alla batteria, Tristan
Martinelli (anche tastierista dei Numero6) e Luca Guercio alla tromba, “Mezzala”
Bitossi sta girando l’Italia per il tour promozionale: dopo Ragusa, Palermo, Roma
e Perugia, il 12 novembre sarà a Frosinone, il 29 a Firenze, il 30 a Catanzaro, il
1 dicembre a Reggio Calabria, il 2 a Cassino e il 3 a Milano. A Genova previste
due date: il 10 dicembre per Habanero al Ducale e il 27 gennaio alla Claque.
Out by Urtovox on September 26, Il problema di girarsi is the first solo album
by the leader of the Genoese band, “Numero6”, Michele Bitossi. Twelve tracks
(plus the bonus track, Ortica) with lyrics that are fresh and direct, light-hearted
pieces, and balance of life.
The title and the language recall the phrases coined by the legendary RAI TV
sports commentator, Bruno Pizzul, the historic emblem of a football that no
longer exists, a football metaphor used to rediscover a type of spontaneous
music writing, without too many calculations and a lot of frippery. “I simply felt
that I had some things to say, and I wanted to say them in a spontaneous way,”
explains the frontman of the Genoese band of I Love you fortissimo, “by
arranging and producing songs that were as direct as possible. The main
objective was to lay bare my writing, leaving behind gratuitous asperity and
self-praise and forced withdrawals from the world.”
Produced with the contribution of Mattia Cominotto on the guitar
(Meganoidi and artistic producer of the album), Giulio Gaietto, bass, Nicola
Magri (an ex-Numero6) on the drums, Tristan Martinelli (who does the
keyboard for Numero6), and Luca Guercio on the horns. “Mezzala” Bitossi is
doing a promotional tour of Italy: after Ragusa, Palermo, Rome and Perugia,
November 12 he will be in Frosinone, the 29 th in Florence, the 30 th in
Catanzaro, December 1 in Reggio Calabria, Dec. 2 in Cassino and Dec. 3 in
Milan. He has two dates set for Genoa: Dec. 10 for Habanero at the Ducal
Palace and Jan. 27 at the Claque.
