rimessa in darsena.
Il rosso pompeiano alle pareti e
l’armonioso alternarsi di elementi
moderni e antichi scelto da Silvia
Consarino lo rendono indimenticabile.
Grandissima cura nella scelta degli
ingredienti che mescolano tradizione
e novità: il menu cambia ogni giorno
in base a cosa offre il mercato. In
cucina mamma Adriana.
Di vino parlatene con il somelier
Marco Costa, è una esperienza.
An elegant mix of design and natural
materials. This is a sober and elegant
restaurant that marries chairs from
Philippe Starck and Frau with tables
made of recycled supports in azobbè,
an ancient wood used in shipyards.
The architecture makes the
atmosphere – Pompeian red on the
walls, and a harmonious alternation
of modern and antique elements –
making it unique.
Great care has been given to the
choice of ingredients, so much so,
that the menu changes each day on
the basis of market offerings.
Ritrovo cultural-gourmand nel cuore
dei caruggi genovesi. Libri, quadri e
mobili d’epoca arredano l’enoteca
Ombre Rosse, in uno dei più antichi
palazzi medievali di Genova. Elide
Coceanig e Isabella Ravazzi,
antiquarie da sempre, hanno deciso di
proporre torte di verdure, zuppe e
qualche piatto tipico accompagnati
da buoni vini invece di vendere quadri
e mobili pregiati. Ottima atmosfera. I
tavolini sono anche all’aperto, di
fronte, nella piazzetta dei Ragazzi.
Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
A gourmet cultural retreat in the
heart of Genoa’s medieval old city.
Books, paintings, and antiques
decorate the tavern called Ombre
Rosse, in one of Genoa’s oldest
palaces, that dates to the early Middle
Ages. Antique dealers, Elide Coceanig
and Isabella Ravazzi suddenly decided
to serve clients salty pies, soups, and
typical Genoese dishes with a good
wine, instead of selling paintings and
antique furniture. The atmosphere is
lovely, the tables even have an
outdoor area on the Piazzetta dei
Ragazzi, and the price/quality ratio is
excellent.
Aperto dal 1912 , era un luogo di
ritrovo di genovesi doc. Si dice che tra
i frequentatori ci sia stato anche
Giosuè Carducci, durante il suo
soggiorno in Liguria dal 1912 al 1916.
Per questo in sala troneggia un suo
ritratto, pare, autografo recuperato in
un angolo del locale durante il
recente restauro. La pareti tinteggiate
in verde oliva-smeraldo e le luci
dirette su ogni tavolino, riproducono
l’atmosfera dell’osteria di un tempo.
Oggi lo chef Rocco Tedesco, su
richiesta dei proprietari, propone un
menu tipico genovese, a base di
ingredienti freschissimi, acquistati
ogni giorno al Mercato Orientale, per
questo il menu varia quasi
quotidianamente.
Ever since 1912 this has been a
restaurant, a place where the true
Genoese would meet. They say that
Giosuè Carducci, would eat here
during his stay in Liguria from 1912 to
1916. This is why his autographed
portrait is prominently displayed in the
restaurant (after having been found in
a corner during its recent renovation).
The walls are painted olive and
emerald green, the lights shine directly
on each table, reproducing the tavern
atmosphere of old. Today the chef,
Rocco Tedesco, follows the owners’
request and proposes a menu that is
typically Genoese. All ingredients
used are purchased fresh daily at the
best stalls at the city food market just
down the road. As a result, the menu
varies from day to day.
Semplicità e buona cucina all’insegna
del pesce. La trattoria dalla comunità
di San Benedetto - quella guidata
dall’indomito Don Gallo - nel
quartiere di San Benigno vicino alla
Lanterna, delizia i palati dal 1981. La
cucina casalinga e i sapori di una
volta vanno di pari passo con un
posto davvero unico in città.
Simple and good cooking. The
restaurant was opened by the
Community of San Benedetto, in the
San Benigno quarter near Di Negro,
and has been delighting the palates
of Genoese since 1981. Home-cooking
and old-fashioned flavors work hand
in glove with a unique welcome. They
make fish dishes like spaghetti alle
vongole (clams) or with swordfish
and shrimp. Second courses can be
swordfish scaloppine with pepper,
novellini with spicy stew, slices of
tuna, but you will also find gnocchi
and trofiette with pesto. Meat is
served only on request for those who
do not eat fish.
