Eppure sono tante le ragioni per cui dovremmo
avere a cuore la Liguria. E non sono fisime da
ambientalisti con il nasino all’insù. Abbiamo
avuto in dono una terra meravigliosa. La bellezza
ci aiuta ogni giorno. Induce pensieri migliori,
perché la bellezza non garantisce la felicità, ma
è elemento importante di un rapporto migliore
con il mondo. Non solo: un ambiente integro è
essenziale per la salute. Qualità, ma anche quantità
della vita, perché costruendo in ogni centimetro
quadrato libero, ci riempiremo gli occhi di
cemento, ma anche i polmoni dello smog di centinaia
di migliaia di auto. Parlano i dati: così la
percentuale di malattie al cuore, di tumori, aumenta.
Si vive peggio. E anche meno.
Ma di questi tempi soprattutto altre preoccupazioni
sembrano capaci di smuoverci. Quelle che
ci toccano il portafogli. Eppure il cemento che
sta invadendo la nostra regione – con la benedizione
di centrodestra come di centrosinistra – ci
svuota anche le tasche. Primo, perché le nostre
principali risorse economiche sono la bellezza e
il turismo. Più del mattone che porta soldi a pochi.
