ABSTRACT
The present study it treats to describe the experience lived deeply through a
diagnosis of the accidents in a great industry of transformation and wooden
improvement, during a period of 28 (twenty and eight) months in the period between
2005 and 2007. It has for objective to subsidize action aiming at the prevention of the
physical integrity and health of the workers, as well as the management of health and
occupational security in an industry of the branch of frames confectioned from the
wooden improvement proceeding from reforestations of the Pinnus Sort spp, with
high technology and excellent quality of its products, added the high productivity. The
lumber industry with these characteristics if transformed quickly into an international
polar region in the related branch. They had been synthecized found epidemiologists
from the 611 considered industrial accidents, with and without period of removal
occurred in the period. It was possible to verify that even so the absolute number of
accidents studied has been raised, corresponding to the period of study, that the tax
of compared frequency enters the year of 2005 and 2007, presented a reduction of
31,85 %. the index of gravity evaluation, however, it varied of 306,03 in the year of
2005 for 871,34 in the year of 2006, or either, presented a superior increase the two
times the value of the previous year. Through this work it was possible to
characterize the accidents occurred in a lumber company of Santa Catarina being
analyzed the data and searching to identify the deficient points of the work process.
The work does not have the pretension to deplete the quarrel on industrial accidents,
but to delineate a perspective on a prevention proposal.
