8ABSTRACTThe objective of the present work is to portrait the study on the representation ofthe contemporary Cuban thought on the coexistence between culture and politics, underthe relation between Cuba and exile. This study is carried out under the perspective of thediscursive vision of the journal Encuentro de la Cultura Cubana and how its narrative hasinfluenced in the contemporary history. Another objective is to understand the gap betweensuch representation and the so called revolutionary official discourse inside Cuba, and amongthe right wing conservative sectors of Miami, both of which in different extreme poles.Also we aim at understand the positioning the publication of this journal in thepost-revolutionary context, in particular after the crash of the east-european regime, whenexile had acquired a new meaning in the narrative of its collaborators, whose objectives is tohighlight Cuban culture as a relevant category within a historical context ofpolitical transformation and the overthrown of a divisor wall between "insiders" and"outsiders".
