paces: it has now completed the upgrading of its
network, achieving download speeds of up to 100
MBit/s, and is introducing innovative new services
such as interactive call-off offers. But it doesn‘t
stop there: Kabel BW has seen a major increase in
its number of staff in the last few years. Now, over
750 employees work at the company‘s three sites at
Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Villingen. Kabel BW also
works together with a multitude of regional companies.

Fast Internet for three quarters of all the people
living in Baden and Württemberg
Kabel BW is Baden-Württemberg‘s fastest-growing
and most innovative TV, Internet, telephony and mobile
telephony provider. Today Kabel BW has 2.3 million
customers, meaning that every second household
in Baden-Württemberg uses its services. The cable network
operator currently provides up to 400 analogue
and digital TV channels, including 21 HDTV channels,
as well as 150 radio channels, fast Internet, telephony
and also, most recently, mobile services, to Baden-
Württemberg. In total, it now gives around 7.7 million
people in Baden and Württemberg access to super-fast
Internet with a current speed of 100 MBit/s. With this
capability, Kabel BW has now catapulted the region to
the peak of Internet expansion.

Media-Angebote erfüllt. Mit einer Netzabdeckung
von 74 Prozent der Haushalte im Land erfüllt
Kabel BW damit das Breitbandziel der Bundesregierung
von 2014 praktisch aus eigener Kraft im Alleingang.
So kann das Kabelnetz aktuelle und auch
zukünftige Bedürfnisse der Kunden gut abdecken.
Doch damit ist der Netzausbau noch nicht abgeschlossen:

even in small communities such as in the Schwäbisch
Alb, it also offers the full range of analogue
and digital TV services, Internet with a speed of
100 MBit/s, and also telephony, via the TV cable.
Interactive services such as Video on Demand will

The total bandwidth of the TV cable, per household,
is 5000 MBit/s, exactly 100 times higher than VDSL.
Currently, 2 % of this capacity is being used for the Internet.
