Unser Land gehört mit seiner hohen Hochschuldichte und Forschungsintensität zu den führenden Technologieregionen Europas. Nachhaltige Forschungs-, Innovations- und Technologiepolitik drückt sich in den Bilanzen der Unternehmen aus. Knapp vier Prozent des Bruttoinlandsproduktes werden in Forschung und Entwicklung investiert - das liegt über dem Durchschnitt vieler anderer Bundesländer und den OECD-Ländern. Ich selbst unterrichte an der Hochschule für Technik in Stuttgart, einem Institut, das Forschungsprojekte mit weitem Umfeld auflegt: von innovativen Baustof- fen, hocheffizienten Wärmedämmstoffen, Vakuumdämmung über energieeffiziente Städte, Geodatenerfassung, Informatik und Wirtschaftsinformatik genauso, wie Informationslogistik, auch im Master international. Deren Professoren meinem Unternehmen als Beiräte und Ratgeber wichtige Potentiale zuführen und die so gleichzeitig im Hier und Jetzt tätig sind und Entscheidungen treffen. Trotzdem haben wir in den baden-württembergischen Hochschulen nicht den Zulauf an Studenten aus Ländern mit hohem Bedarf an Innovations-Strukturen wie zum Beispiel Saudi Arabien oder den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten. Stattdessen sind sie für Studenten aus Ländern interessant, die in Kulturen und Sprachen eher dem Abendland zuzurechnen sind. Woran liegt das? Die Universitäten anderer Länder arbeiten nach Marketinggesichtspunkten. Aber: Wir brauchen in Baden-Württemberg einen verstärkten Zulauf von Studenten aus Ländern mit like information logistics, in an international masters programme.
