C. camphora is a complex species in which a tremendous amount of intraspecific variability<br />

has been recorded. Such variability exists both in morphology and in chemical<br />

constitution. Kostermans (1964) listed the following varieties that were identified<br />

based mostly on morphological characteristics:<br />

var. cuneata Blume ex Meissner<br />

var. glaucescens A Braun<br />

var. linaloolifera Fujita (here the major component of the oil is linalool)<br />

var. nominalis Hayata<br />

var. normale Hayata ex Ito<br />

var. parviflora Miquel
