Biographies <strong>of</strong> <strong>Conference</strong> Chair, Programme Chairs and
Keynote Speakers
<strong>Conference</strong> Chair
Mathana Santiwat is <strong>the</strong> President <strong>of</strong> Bangkok University, Thailand, and holds a Doctor
<strong>of</strong> Philosophy in Higher Education Administration from University <strong>of</strong> Kansas; Lawrence,
Kansas, U.S.A. President Santiwat has her undergraduate and graduate educational
background in Accounting and served as a Certified Public Accountant <strong>of</strong> Thailand. She
started her career at Bangkok University in 1972 as a junior lecturer in Accounting; in
1985 she assumed <strong>the</strong> position <strong>of</strong> Dean <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> School <strong>of</strong> Accounting. She became <strong>the</strong>
Vice President for Academic Affairs in 1988 which position she held for 19 years. Besides
her very active work for Bangkok University, President Santiwat is also involved in several government
related committees, including her position as a National Quality Assessor for Thai Higher Education
Institutions and she is <strong>the</strong> current President <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Association <strong>of</strong> Private Higher Education Institutions <strong>of</strong>
Thailand. It is to be noted that Mathana Santiwat is a longtime supporter <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> rights <strong>of</strong> Thai women and is a
Member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Executive Board <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Thai Women Watch.
Programme Co Chairs
Dr. Vincent Ribière. After teaching for 10 years in <strong>the</strong> United States, first at American
University (Washington, DC) and later on at <strong>the</strong> New York Institute <strong>of</strong> Technology (NYIT)
in New York and in <strong>the</strong> Kingdom <strong>of</strong> Bahrain, Vincent joined Bangkok University in 2007
as <strong>the</strong> Managing Director and co-founder <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute for Knowledge and Innovation –
Sou<strong>the</strong>ast Asia (IKI-SEA). Vincent received his Doctorate <strong>of</strong> Science in Knowledge
Management from <strong>the</strong> George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Management
Sciences from <strong>the</strong> Paul Cézanne University, in Aix en Provence, France. Vincent
teaches, conducts research and consults in <strong>the</strong> area <strong>of</strong> knowledge management, innovation management
and information systems He is a KM columnist for CIO World & Business magazine (Thailand) and he is part
<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> editorial board <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>International</strong> Journal <strong>of</strong> Knowledge Management (IJKM) and <strong>of</strong> VINE: The
Journal <strong>of</strong> Information and Knowledge Management Systems
Asst. Pr<strong>of</strong>. Lugkana Worasinchai, Ph.D is <strong>the</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute <strong>of</strong> Research
Promotion and Innovation Development (IRID), Bangkok University. In addition, Lugkana
Worasinchai is <strong>the</strong> Co-Founder and Co-Managing Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institute for Knowledge
and Innovation South-East Asia (IKI-SEA), Bangkok University. She teaches
undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Administration, and is actively involved
in research on <strong>the</strong> relationship between knowledge management and business
strategies. Lugkana Worasinchai is a published scholar, her articles appearing in major
academic journals; she gives seminars to firms and public sector organizations, and is regularly invited as a
guest lecturer by reputable international universities
Keynote Speakers
Patrick Lambe is a world renowned knowledge management expert, consultant, author,
facilitator and keynote speaker. His specializations are facilitation skills for building
common ground and knowledge sharing, decision-making in complexity, building
knowledge strategies, knowledge organization and <strong>the</strong> management <strong>of</strong> expertise. He
regularly works with senior leadership teams in <strong>the</strong>se areas, and has deep experience in
<strong>the</strong> government and non pr<strong>of</strong>it sectors. Patrick is founder and Principal Consultant <strong>of</strong> KM
consulting and research firm Straits Knowledge, based in Singapore. He is a prolific
writer, international keynote speaker and teacher in knowledge management, and an
active member <strong>of</strong> several pr<strong>of</strong>essional communities, including iKMS, actKM Forum and <strong>the</strong> Taxonomy
Community <strong>of</strong> Practice. Patrick was educated at <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Oxford and holds Master’s degrees from
both Oxford and London
