The combination of an oblique plural ending in -an and the first-person<br />
singular enclitic im usually becomes -a me instead of -an im.<br />
Ez yek ji wan nivîskara me. I am one of those writers.<br />
Ez jî yek ji wan kurda me ku … I too am one of those Kurds who …<br />
Ez bi xwe yek ji wan kesa me ku … I myself am one of those people who…<br />
§ 12. ‘To Have’ and the Existential Verb Hebûn. The existential verb ‘to<br />
exist’ is hebûn, the present and past conjugations of which are as follows:<br />
PRESENT PAST<br />
ez héme em héne ez hébûm em hébûn<br />
tu héyî hun héne tu hébûyî hun hébûn<br />
ew héye ew héne ew hébû ew hébûn<br />
The third-persons singular and plural are used for ‘there is’ and ‘there<br />
are’ respectively.<br />
Gotineke pêşiyên me heye. There is a saying of our ancestors.<br />
Ger xwendevanên kurdî tunebin<br />
sedemê wê hene.<br />
Pir kes li dora min hebûn ku ji şiîran<br />
hez dikir û şiîr dinivîsandin.<br />
Di çavên wî da ronahiyeke dijwar<br />
hebû.<br />
