Titrimetric (volumetric) fac<strong>to</strong>rs for acids and bases are given in Table 11.28. Suitable indica<strong>to</strong>rs for<br />

acid-base titrations may be found in Tables 8.23 and 8.24.<br />

11.6.3 Standard Volumetric (Titrimetric) Redox Solutions<br />

Alkaline arsenite, 0.1N As(III) <strong>to</strong> As(V). Dissolve 4.9460 g of primary standard grade As 2 O 3<br />

in 40 mL of 30% NaOH solution. Dilute with 200 mL of water. Acidify the solution with 6N<br />

HCl <strong>to</strong> the acid color of methyl red indica<strong>to</strong>r. Add <strong>to</strong> this solution 40 g of NaHCO 3 and dilute<br />

<strong>to</strong> 1L.<br />

Ceric sulfate, 0.1N Ce(IV) <strong>to</strong> Ce(III). Dissolve 63.26 g of cerium(IV) ammonium sulfate dihydrate<br />

in 500 mL of 2N sulfuric acid. Dilute the solution <strong>to</strong> 1L and standardize against the
