Sensitive Lines of the Elements<br />

In this table the sensitive lines of the elements are arranged in order of decreasing wavelengths. A Roman<br />

numeral II following an element designation indicates a line classified as being emitted by the singly ionized<br />

a<strong>to</strong>m. In the column headed Sensitivity, the most sensitive line of the non-ionized a<strong>to</strong>m is indicated by U1, and<br />

other lines by U2, U3, and so on, in order of decreasing sensitivity. For the singly ionized a<strong>to</strong>m the corresponding<br />

designations are V1, V2, V3, and so on.<br />
