6. Remove a 11 parts from the carburetor body, except<br />

nozzles and other pressed in parts, Figure 58.<br />

carbon from bores of flange. Replace all worn or damaged<br />

parts and all gaskets.<br />

After cleaning carburetor parts, group as follows:<br />

1. Group all parts controlling gasoline level, Figure 60.<br />

2. Group all parts controlling the idle operation, Figure 61.<br />

7. Remove all parts from the body flange assembly, Figure<br />

3. Group all parts controlling the high speed operation,<br />

NOTE: Wash all parts in a good carburetor cleaning solution,<br />

except the thermostatic coil and housing assembly and the<br />

pump plunger.<br />

CAUTION: DO NOT SOAK THE BOWL COVER<br />

ASSEMBLY FOR MORE THAN ONE-HALF HOUR.<br />

NOTE: Carefully note slots in choke piston cylinder.<br />

If they are carbonized, remove the welsh plug by<br />

piercing center with a small pointed instrument and<br />

pry outward. Be careful not to damage the casting.<br />

Blow out all passages with compressed air and scrape<br />
