SUPPORT CUSHIONS<br />

The mounting arrangement of the two center bearing<br />

support cushions varies when used on cars equipped with<br />

Hydra-Matic Transmissions as shown in Figure (1), all other<br />

models with standard transmission use the same conventional<br />

type mounting as previously used.<br />

The arrangement of the cushions on Hydra-Matic equipped<br />

cars has the left cushion mounted on an approximate horizontal<br />

plane to absorb side motion of the shaft when shifts are taking<br />

place.<br />

Do not attempt to use the mounting for Hydra-Matic<br />

equipped cars on cars with Standard Transmissions since no<br />

advantage is gained.
