FRONT SUSPENSION<br />

REMOVAL (RIGHT OR LEFT):<br />

1. Raise car and place stand jacks under inner ends of the<br />

lower support arms (1 ), Figure 1.<br />

2. Remove wheel.<br />

3. Remove shock absorber upper stud nut and palnut (30),<br />

Figure 5.<br />

4. Remove shock absorber lower mounting nuts and washers<br />

(6) Figure 1. Turn shock absorber 1/4 turn and remove<br />

through opening.<br />

6. Shock absorber anchor plate and attaching<br />

nuts<br />

7. Front stabilizer bar<br />

8. Stabilizer connectors<br />

9. Brake backing plates<br />

10. Steering arm nut<br />

5. Remove lower support arm pivot to frame bolts (4), nuts<br />

and lockwashers.<br />

6. Raise car, allowing coil springs to expand and remove the<br />

spring.<br />

NOTE: Coil spring is under great pressure - Use care when<br />

removing coil springs.<br />

7. Remove stabilizer connector (8).<br />

8. Remove outer tie rod end (13) Figure 2, from steering arm<br />

using Tool J-2781-A.<br />

9. Remove four bolts from brake backing plate and attach<br />

backing plate (9) under fender to protect brake hose.
