BRAKES 15 - 9<br />

To adjust; remove the pedal link clevis pin (10) and adjust the<br />

master cylinder to pedal push rod (12). Increase or decrease<br />

length of push rod (12) to obtain free play to between 1/4" to<br />

3/8".<br />

Tighten the pedal link clevis nut - lubricate linkage and<br />

recheck pedal free-play.<br />

PEDAL PULLER<br />

To adapt the J-2795 Brake and Clutch Pedal Remover for<br />

the "A" series pedal rods it will be necessary to add a horseshoe<br />

washer 1/4" thick with a slot milled in the washer. The<br />

opening in the washer must be large enough to enter over<br />

remover adapter; for specifications see Figure 10.<br />

8. Remove bolt holding bracket at rear of master cylinder.<br />

9. Remove clutch operating lever held by woodruff key and<br />

lock bolt.<br />

10. Remove master cylinder push rod.<br />

11. Remove lock ring at brake cross shaft with snap ring pliers<br />

KMO-630.<br />

12. Remove master cylinder and brake pedal cross shaft brace.<br />

13. Remove clutch cross shaft support bracket and clutch cross<br />

shaft assembly.<br />

14. Remove brake pedal lever assembly.<br />

INSTALLATION:<br />

1. Install brake pedal lever on brake cross shaft.<br />

2. Install clutch cross shaft and bracket assembly.<br />

3. Install master cylinder and brake cross shaft brace.<br />

4. Install brake cross shaft lock ring.<br />

REMOVAL:<br />

BRAKE PEDAL<br />

1. Raise front of car and place stand jacks.<br />

2. Remove nut and shakeproof washer holding pedal rod to<br />

brake pedal lever assembly.<br />

3. Use puller J-2795 and remove pedal rod.<br />

4. Disconnect clutch pull back spring.<br />

5. Remove clevis pin and cotter key and disconnect clutch<br />

adjusting rod.<br />

6. Disconnect brake follow up linkage.<br />

7. Disconnect master cylinder push rod.<br />

5. In stall master cylinder push rod, boot, clevis pin and<br />

cotter pin.<br />

6. Install bolt at master cylinder support bracket.<br />

7. Install clutch release lever, align with key and tighten bolt.<br />

8. Install clutch adjusting rod, clevis pin, and cotter pin.<br />

9. Install brake follow up rod and make necessary adjustment.<br />

10. Hook up brake follow up, brake pull back, and clutch pull<br />

back-springs.<br />

11. Install brake pedal arm, nut and washer. (Align a r m with<br />

pedal before tightening nut.) Adjust pedal for proper clearance.<br />

12. Lower car and remove jacks
